Neat idea! My girls love books and music so they would think combining them was really fun.

Great connections to learning. I’ve heard listening to classical music makes babies smarter. Possibly there’s some benefits from music that can’t just be taught?

Here in Australia the power of music is being used so much more! Not so much for reading but all of my local schools have ditched the alarm-sounding school bells and now play music instead!

This is such a fantastic concept! I love the idea of using music within helping a child read better! I am a huge supporter of music integrating with learning…. My youngest does music therapy to help with his speech…

I love it! Music does incredible things for the brain both cognitively and emotionally. Your son will reap so many benefits of being emotionally grounded and more empathetic thanks to a very savvy speech therapist!

Great idea! I remember in school it made learning so much more fun when the teacher put on some music. It’s great to put it into writing!

These are great suggestions. I’m always looking out for good tips or ides for my preschooler to use during our ‘homeschool preschool’.

Music is a powerful tool that I feel is greatly underappreciated–ironically enough, much like reading. But if we could get everyone to use both of them–separately and together–boy, what a difference that might make. Thank you for the post!

I could not agree more! Music and instruments are proven to help boost academics and still so many see it as a waste of time! Thanks for your comment!

I love the connection between music and reading and the idea that it promotes learning. I’ve always known it’s easy to teach something simple like days of the week by making it a song but hadn’t thought of all the other aspects that connect learning and music. Great post!
